EDTeC have produced a series of videos featuring Darren Fittler, a student studying law here at UNSW. Darren is blind and the videos demonstrate how a person with vision impairment uses assistive technology (in this case the screen reader JAWS) to access the computer. These short videos will give you an understanding of the way a student with vision impairment accesses the Internet and interacts with learning materials. They also provide an overview of some of the design issues related to accessing learning environments for any student with disabilities. The videos are accompanied by text transcripts. To view the videos you will need to have Windows Media Player installed and you will also need to select your connection speed (Broadband, ISDN or Dial Up).
