ACTIVITY: Selective image retouchingACTIVITY: Image retouching - selective enhancingYou will need Photoshop or other image editing program. Use a scanned image of your own, or download one from this web page. 1. Open the image in Photoshop. Try out the selection tools, using the shift and alt (option) keys to edit your selection. When you have created a selection, make adjustments such as levels, colour balance and unsharp mask - these will be applied only in the 'selected' areas. When you have finished making adjustments, deselect by clicking outside of the selected area, or by going to Select>deselect. Select the clone stamp tool (left of toolbox, above eraser), then select a paintbrush option in the option bar at top of screen (usually a smallish airbrush is best). Hold down the alt (option) key while you click on the image to select the clone source. Then begin painting - it takes a little practice, but is a powerful tool.
