Educational Development - A Blended Approach

A blended approach to greater student engagement

Thinking about enhanced student learning using Vista?  Would you:

  • Like your students to be more actively engaged with your course?
  • Like to use eLearning to enhance student outcomes in a time-efficient way?
  • Like your students to get the best out of online learning using WebCT Vista?
  • Like to try a range of approaches that blend elearning with interesting lecture and classroom activities?

If your answer to any of these questions is ‘yes' you are invited to participate in a dynamic program that blends workshops with online support to enable you to:

  • Investigate and discuss approaches that actively engage students and choose one for your course.
  • Plan an approach to suit your course or program.
  • Develop your online course with hands-on support from EDTeC staff.

The program can be customised to suit your interests and needs and those of some of your colleagues.   It can be held in your school.   Alternatively you may want to join a development group at EDTeC.

The approach

Over a series of workshops with online support you will develop an approach that blends online learning with lecture or classroom activities for enhanced engagement and learning.   Workshops will focus on your specific interests and needs and will use a design and development model that will enable you to identify:

  • Specific goals for online development
  • Techniques to use elearning to engage students
  • How to implement a course design to attain your goals
  • How to maintain contact with other participants and EDTeC staff for ongoing improvement or to develop other courses
  • How to access online resources
